Ugh

Well, they had to cement or patch or something my floors.  My house is a bigger mess, I can't quit sneezing, and I'm tired of stuff being everywhere.  I can't open my fridge 'cause they left all their crap in front of it.  I've reached that ugly point where I'm not able to look past the yucky inconveniences to the lovely shiny future of a new kitchen.

That said, here are the pictures from today.

Light Fixtures

After an impromptu trip to Home Depot with my brother, John, and nephew, Jack, I have light fixtures for my kitchen.  Special thanks to John for helping me with the decision making.

Here's the one that will go in the dining area.

And this one will go in the kitchen area.

So now, I think I have all the major decisions and purchases done.  I just have to be patient and wait for everything to get put in.

Sheetrock is finished!

They finished the sheetrock today.  The floor is looking some better, but there's still work to be done on it.  Here's today's pictures.

Progress and Backsplash poll

They did some electrical and phone wiring today and put in some sheetrock!  Here's today's updated pictures.  After them, I'm conducting a short poll about backsplash tile.

Here is a picture of the design I'd like for my backsplash:

I think I want the pattern at the top of the panel that has the four small diamonds nested with the larger diamonds.

So the informal poll:  Which looks better with the wood and counter top, the tile on the left or the tile on the right?  Comment below, please. :)

Wallpaper

The only change today is some, but not all of the wallpaper is gone.   I'm kinda thinking getting it off is as bad as I've heard it is.  Glad I'm not the one stuck doing it.  Hopefully there will be some progress I can show tomorrow.
